Powerline towers north of Ingersheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany with noctilucent clouds in the background. Noctilucent clouds can be seen during summer time from areas around latitude 50 N. They are ice crystal clouds in great height, which are lit by the sun.
The rising clouds however are man-made: their origin is Neckarwestheim Nuclear Power Plant.

Pylons around Pylon 47A of Facility 322 at Neckarwestheim. The large pylon right of it carries on its lowest crossbar quadruple-bundle conductors of the single-phase AC powerline Neckarwestheim-Bahnstromschaltwerk - Zazenhausen. It is together with the line Neckarwestheim-Bahnstromschaltwerk - Kernkraftwerk Neckarwestheim the only powerline for single phase AC using such conductors. Both circuits are part of the single phase AC grid of the German Railway Company.

Pylon 47A of Facility 322 is a unique pylon of a double-circuit 220 kV-powerline near Neckarwestheim. The cloud in the background is generated from Neckarwestheim Nuclear Power Plant. It consists of 2 units, one with a capacity of 840 MW and one with a capacity of 1400 MW, however only later one is still in use. The first, now decomissioned 840 MW unit was the only nuclear power plant with a generator for generating single phase AC. It had a capacity of 150 MW and fed its energy into the single-phase AC grid of the German Railway Company.

In Böblingen, some towers of the 110 kV single phase AC branch from the traction current line Stuttgart-Zazenhausen - Eutingen to Stuttgart-Rohr were renewed in Böblingen. This line is used for the power supply of the S-train line to Herrenberg, which operates as all lines of the Stuttgart S-train system with single-phase AC with a voltage of 15 kV and a frequeny of 16.7 Hz.
The train on the picture is not an S-train as the S-train is operated with railcars. The yellow highrise building in the background is the famous brothel C33.
